When Rishu started college she joined a social service organisation Rotaract Club of Mrs KMPM Vocational College from where she started gaining interest in social work. Along with her studies going on one side, she loved spending her spare time doing projects which benefit the community. She, with her team, worked on a number of projects which focuses on the environment, physical and mental health, education, health and sanitation and so on. Though she has spent a few years doing social work but never got or created an opportunity to do something for young girls and women. Somewhere she always felt the need for awareness on menstruation not only for others but for herself too. Because she herself was not much confident about this and also didn't have much idea how to execute such a thing which is a taboo among people, she found it very difficult to aware or educate girls while making sure that they are comfortable. But when she got the chance to become a part of Menstrupedia and got trained by Aditi Gupta, her guidance helped her gain proper information and confidence on talking freely on periods.From a girl herself following menstrual myths to becoming someone who now educates and empower girls to eradicate this stigma, it is an exciting and a blissful journey for Rishu. She has educated more than 25000 girls till the date and still counting. It has now become passion for her to educate more and more girls in a way that will sustain for generations.
