All We Have Is A Happy Period
The monthly inevitable and immortal crime scene in your pants steals away your smile for at least five days. For some, the violence is both physical and emotional. I hereby provide a suggestion. What if your menstruation comes with superb perks, a sense of comfort and a happy ending to a five-day extravaganza that no more scares you?
Working women sheepishly disclose their status to their female colleagues explaining to them the reason for their long face or their inactive behavior. Your first step starts from here. Stop being embarrassed about it. Your menses actually provides you with an opportunity to have girly moments with every female around you – your mother, friends, female colleagues and the like. Talk about it; discuss your problems, even laugh about it. Provide a sense of disguised fun to your male counterparts, arousing their interest in your insiders’ chat. This is also a perfect time for you to rediscover your taste of music. Everything your eyes reflect speak volumes about what is going on in your mind. Music provides comfort, a sense of confidence and takes you to a different planet where all you have to do is refresh your songs’ encyclopedia with a completely new collection. Reprise your favorites, add new ones to it and experiment with new offshoots. This certainly adds to your knowledge and improves your personality.
For me, menstruation is a season of delicateness. These days provide you with an excellent opportunity to put a break to your busy workplace and hectic schedule and to discover alternatives to focus on your health. Eating poorly will only make your symptoms worse. Here, I will help you soothe your tired, irritable and bloated stomach. Menses is a perfect situation to apprise you of the world’s richest flavors. So start your day with a rich variety of Indian tea. Try various flavors.Tea provides release to muscle spasms and helps in reducing tension. Include legumes and leafy greens in your lunch. These five days are magic days of the month. You have complete right to demand that your partner or best friend take you to your favorite restaurant. Try as many varieties of hot, savoring soups as possible. Enjoy every sip, giving rest to your stomach and with a smile on your face. Soothe your sugar cravings with a bunch of delightful seasonal fruits.
I adore these days for one special reason. My monthly list of favorite movies finally gets a chance to be watched. Grab your laptop with your favorite selection of films and a hot water bag. Trust me, its heaven. Believe it or not,I actually wait for my periods because I get this opportunity. Lying on my bed, enjoying my movie mix prepared last month and planning a new collection for my upcoming periods.
One stupid yet interesting activity I recently started engaging in was making newspaper bags/packets for disposing sanitary napkins. During this phase of physical torment when you find every little activity cumbersome, you can actually relieve yourself by just gluing together some newspapers and preparing disposable bags. I even donated some of these to my maid and taught her some lessons about sanitation. She found it funny yet followed what I instructed her.
I like to keep the best for the last. Now this is a phase when you deserve and receive extra care, pampering and affection from your loved ones. You can expect your friend to comfort you during these days and in turn, return the favor to her when she has hers. Your partner has full opportunity to prove his concern and care for you. Periods are actually a blissful experience if you make it one.It helps you restore your relationships. A five-day journey when you can actually pretend that you are the star of the show.
So instead of fearing or fighting your menstrual blues, you can actually enjoy these days. It will certainly make you mentally and physically stronger. Despite undergoing pain inside, you actually shine outside. Whether it is in the workplace or in the house, if you enjoy it from within, you reflect a different and brighter version of yourself. So smile and have a happy period!
