Aditi Gupta and Tuhin Paul are social entrepreneurs who are on a mission to help parents teach their children about puberty and reproductive health, sothat every child can deal with the physical and psychological changes during puberty in a positive way.
While growing up, Aditi did not have the chance to learn about periods and puberty; instead, she believed its many myths and misconceptions. Whereas, Tuhin in his growing up journey hardly had any avenues to discuss the bodily changes during puberty. Whatever information he gained from his peers turned out to be myths. Over the years they unlearned many such pre-conditionings and have helped others in breaking those myths and mi sconceptions through their work.
In 2012, Aditi and Tuhin founded Menstrupedia with the goal to make menstrual education accessible to every girl in India at the right time in their lives. Since 2012 Aditi has personally educated over 50,000 girls and women about body positivity and menstrual health. She has also trained and coached over 10,000 educators in the m ovement towards period positivity.
Aditi is a TED Speaker, and a Forbes India 30 Under 30 achiever. She was named one of BBC’s 100 influential women of 2015 and has been a World Economic Forum Global Shaper. Both Aditi and Tuhin have been invited to eight different countries to share the Menstrupedia model and its impact in the field of reproductive health among adolescents. Their work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Time, Reuters, CNBC and BBC. Educational tools designed by them are currently employed by over 25,500 schools in India. Menstrupedia's resources are also widely used in more than 20 different countries which have collectively impacted the lives of over 10 million girls and women across India and the world.
